August 7,2007 - FIRST TECH MEETING OF THE YEAR! The first meeting of the year has been scheduled for Wednesday August 29th, time and date to be announced later. new officers for the year will be elected and plans continue for the tech club events scheduled for this year. many things are rolling along including the annual Fall LAN party, the potato guns, and the Campus Radio. All in all it should be a fun and full year.

May 23, 2007 - Site Under Construction! For the next month or two our website and the server are going to be undergoing major renovations. Pages are getting re-vamped, moved and just plain changed and the whole site is moving to a new server.

May 2, 2007 - MAJOR NEWS!!! Tech Club now has a Team Speak server set up and ready to use! This handy little program is a great conference call type program that you can use to hook up with friends to better run team play in games or have online study sessions without all the jumping back and forth in messenger services. All you need is to load the client, connect with the server and have a good mic and speakers.
To get hooked up, first download the client at www.teamspeak.org . Once the client is loaded click on Connect at the top of the window, and right-click Servers. Enter in the name Tech Club TS or any other name that you can easily recognize. Hit Enter and a dialog box appears on the right. Under the server IP enter 206.176.95.37 . Then click Anonymous and enter in a nickname you want to use. This name can be changed at any time whenever you log into the server. There is no server password. Check the Auto-reconnect box and then click Connect at the bottom of the screen.
Now you should be logged into the server under the "Main Lobby" and you're ready to talk! There are a few mic and speaker settings that you may have to adjust under the Settings tab at the top of the window as far as if you want voice activated mic or key activated. In order to move to any of the other 'rooms' you will have to be a registered member of the server. If you would like to register on the MTI Tech Club TS server just give one of the SA's or CA's a yell.
There are already rooms set up for Guild Wars, Counterstrike, C&C, AA and WoW and soon there will be more specifically for study groups or private chat sessions. Come on in and join the fun in the ultimate chat room!
